Parents File Lawsuit Over Fatal Burlington County Bus Accident

On Behalf of | Apr 23, 2012 | Wrongful Death

The parents of an 11-year-old triplet killed in a school bus crash have filed a lawsuit against the bus company and the owners of a dump truck that crashed into the bus. The drivers of the bus and the dump truck are also named in the lawsuit.

Isabelle Tezsla was killed in the accident, and her sisters Sophie and Natalie were critically injured. The surviving sisters have since been released from the hospital.

The suit alleges that the driver of the dump truck was driving an overloaded vehicle at an excessive rate of speed and was therefore unable to avoid crashing into a school bus full of children. It also alleges that the driver of the school bus also failed to properly stop at a stop sign and check for oncoming traffic before attempting to cross an intersection.

Both drivers have been cited for their roles in the crash. The bus driver was cited for running a stop sign, and the dump truck driver received a citation for failing to properly tarp and secure his truck’s load.

The company that owns the truck was also cited for an overweight truck and an inadequate braking system.

Nothing can ever fully compensate for the loss of a loved one. However, wrongful death lawsuits can provide financial remedy for the pain and suffering experienced at the hands of others. The families of New Jersey fatal accident victims can pursue a civil suit against someone who caused the death of another due to negligence or malicious action.

It’s important to realize, though, that the law limits the amount of a time a family has to bring a wrongful death lawsuit. If your loved one was killed in a fatal accident, it is important to act soon so you don’t lose your rights.
